Tan Zi Yuen, Audrey is a graduate from the University of Malaya with a degree in Bachelor of Laws with Honours in 2008. She was called to the Bar on 14th April 2009.
While reading law, Audrey did a period of internship at Messrs Azman Davidson & Co. during which period she gained a great amount of exposure and experience in various areas of law including without limitation to litigation, conveyancing, and corporate drafting She completed her pupillage with Messrs Rozlan Khuen and was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2009. Thereafter, she joined Messrs Amir Faezal Norzela & Chong.
During Audrey’s tenure with Messrs Amir Faezal Norzela & Chong, her areas of practice included handling conveyancing and banking matters related to sale and purchase of residential and commercial properties, tenancy matters and general conveyancing matters, especially for banking matters, she has handled the preparation and management of all types of loan documentation and power of attorney for both Conventional and Islamic loans having covered various Conventional and Islamic banks including without limitation to Public Bank Berhad, RHB Bank Berhad, Maybank Berhad, Hong Leong Bank Berhad, CIMB Bank Berhad, Maybank Islamic Bank Berhad, CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad, RHB Islamic Bank Berhad, Public Islamic Bank Berhad, OCBC Bank Berhad, OCBC Islamic Bank Berhad , Standard Chartered Bank Berhad, United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Berhad as well as the Malaysian Government’s Public Sector Housing Financing Board (LPPSA).
Audrey subsequently joined Messrs CY Ng & Tan as a partner before setting up Law Chambers of Y Tan.
Audrey’s stint with the previous law firms provided her with relevant exposure to various kinds of matters including drafting legal documents such as proposals/letters of offer to purchase properties, sale and purchase agreements, tenancy agreements, loan documents, power of attorney (general as well as those relating specifically to submission and development works at project sites), joint venture agreements, renovation guidelines as well as providing legal advice and service to corporations and individuals.
Audrey also handles various aspects of general conveyancing matters and has advised both individuals and corporations on property-related transactions in housing projects as well as end financing for property development.
Audrey is also involved in providing legal advise to Malaysian Incorporated and Foreign-owned businesses operating in Malaysia on commercial and corporate-related matters.
